Aron Hyde hired as Fire's new goalkeeper coach

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Monday that the team has hired Aron Hyde as the Fire's new goalkeeper coach. Hyde joins Head Coach Carlos de los Cobos staff after most recently serving as University of Washington's men's assistant coach and for the Evergreen Soccer Club as the goalkeeping director.

Hyde, a Birmingham, England product, has several years of coaching experience and previously coached Seattle University's men's and women's soccer teams for three years. He has also been involved with Region IV Olympic Development Program as well as the Washington State Olympic Development Program.

During his college soccer career, Hyde, 27, played for Judson College (NAIA) as a goalkeeper. While attending Judson, he also trained with the Chicago Fire first team and worked for the club's youth academy in a coaching capacity. As a goalkeeper, Hyde spent time with the development program English Premier League side Fulham FC as well as Walsall FC, Millwall FC, and Wycombe Wanderers in his native country. He currently possesses his USSF A and USSF Goalkeeper licenses, NSCAA Premier and NSCAA National Goalkeeper diplomas and is halfway towards completing his UEFA A Coaching License. Hyde earned his Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership from Seattle University in 2009.
