The Chicago Fire will have a current winless streak of five games, but they can ensure home-field advantage with a win over the New England Revolution on Saturday. The Fire have not played New England since a May 9 game ended in a 1-1 (Conde 36 – Joseph 49) draw.
One should expect a close match as the all-time series score favors the Fire 15-13 in 35 meetings. The Revolution do hold a 9-7 advantage in New England in the all-time series.
New England has only one win in their last seven matches, but still cling to the eighth place overall and the final wild card spot for the MLS Cup playoffs. They have a one-point advantage over Real Salt Lake entering the game.
The match is scheduled to begin at 6PM ET, October 17 at Gillette Stadium.
