Bill Belichick's Decision Cost Pat's

Another Patriots-Colts Classic was born, and a decision that will be talked about for a long time. The Pat's were up 13 with just 4 minutes to go, and it seemed like New England had it won, but with Payton Manning on the other side it truly takes 60 minutes. "We came here to win" Belichick said. “We thought we could win the game on that play. We would have been able to run out the clock or run out most all of the clock. That was 1 yard I was confident we could get.” It was actually two yards that was needed, but in all it was short. It appeared to me that he got at first, but after watching the replay 100 times the ball was bobbled, and he didn't have control of the ball past the line.

I hear a lot of people asking why he would make the decision. Well I know one reason why, Payton Manning is on the sideline right were you want him! The reason he made it is because he knew that he didn't want Manning back on that field. That's the respect you get when your Payton Manning, when you are the best quarterback on the planet, you make the opposing coach think to much, and get away from the most underrated strategy in football. Field Position!

Speaking of respect, what kind of message did he send to his defense? Does he really think that badly of his defense? They picked Manning off twice, they held them to 21 points with 4 minutes to go. Why would he not put any trust in his defense? I wonder if he would've if Derek Anderson was sitting on the bench across from him?  My bet is he would have punted. So to answer those questions as to why? One name. Payton Manning.
