It's a busy time in Chicago.
The NBA All Star Game was Sunday, and despite a nasty spill the Bulls' Derrick Rose still represented the team well.
The NHL has sent their best to the Olympics in Vancouver, and the Blackhawks are in first place.
Speaking of the Olympics, is there any level of national pride still at stake for us, or is this simple a matter of going through the motions and missing certain television programming for two weeks?
And the Cubs and Sox are reporting for duty in Arizona soon.
![]() Former Purdue Star Drew Brees Leads Saints To Super Bowl.
|
Drew Brees will be the third QB from Purdue to play on Super Sunday, he has already cemented his mark as on of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. He led the most exciting offense in the league this season to get the New Orleans Saints their first Super Bowl trip in their history.
Brees was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 1999 and 2000. He is Purdue University's all-time leader in passing yards (11,792), touchdowns (90), total offensive yards (12,693), completion percentage (.611), completions (1,026) and attempts (1,678). Drafted 32nd overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2001 NFL draft.

"Cheaters never prosper."
We all heard this phrase from our parents, teachers and from society as a whole as we grew up. It is a nice sentiment to teach important lessons to kids as they grow. But it is dead wrong - at least in baseball.
Last night we were subjected to another tearful admission by one of baseball's great players that he did, indeed, cheat with performance enhancing drugs. Despite the media playing stupid yesterday and today, this doesn't really come as a big revelation. Most people strongly suspected (at the very least) that McGwire used a lot more than the Andro to which he previously admitted.

Something must be done. Soon.
