At home Saturday, DePaul fell to Big East rival Louisville 68-59. The loss extends the Blue Demons losing-streak to eight games, and they now stand at 1-13 in conference play.
With seven minutes to play in regulation, DePaul sophomore Mike Bizoukas knocked down a three-pointer to give the Demons their last lead of the game. But once they went ahead, Louisville launched into a 9-0 run that spanned four minutes and ultimately proved too much for the Demons to overcome.
"We've got to find a way to finish a game," said DePaul interim coach Tracy Webster.
Despite 10 rebounds and a career-high 26 points from junior Mac Koshwal, the DePaul players struggled offensively. Oft reliable senior-standout Will Walker had his share of difficulties going 2-14 from the field.
"Louisville did a really good job of taking Will Walker out of the game," said Webster. "They were aware of where Will was at all times, and he also missed some open looks."
Walker has been a steady force the Blue Demons this season. During Saturday's game, his 44 second trip to the bench was his first since January 26.
DePaul will be back in action on the road Wednesday against Cincinnati.
