Ohio St. at Penn St.
Penn St. has to playing the best football out of any team in the Big 10 right now while Ohio St. has looked questionable lately. The difference in this game will be the play by both teams’ quarterbacks. Daryll Clark has established himself as the best quarterback in the conference and Terrelle Pryor has looked like anything but great as he’s been making terrible throws. Penn St. will also have a major advantage playing at home. Penn St. 24-14.
LSU at Alabama
LSU’s offense has come to life in recent weeks but it has been against teams that aren’t very good while the only guy on Alabama’s offense that has been playing well is Mark Ingram. Both teams’ defense have looked stellar throughout the year so the decider will be which team will be able to control the ball on offense. I like the Tide to take it at home and stay undefeated. Alabama 17-14.
Oregon St. at Cal
Both of these teams hold 3-2 conference records and are looking to climb the latter in the Pac 10. Since losing to USC and Oregon, the Bears have looked very good and are back in the top 25. The Beavers got a win against UCLA last week after taking USC to the wire the game before. This game will feature two really good runningbacks for both teams in Jahvid Best for Cal and Jacquizz Rodgers for Oregon St. I like the way Cal has been playing but it should be a close game. Cal 31-27.
Oklahoma at Nebraska
These two teams have both had somewhat disappointing seasons so far and are trying to get back towards the top of the Big 12. The team with the most to lose in this game has to be Nebraska as they are trying to get atop of the North. Despite losing Sam Bradford for the season, the Sooners have continued to play well. It will be hard for the Sooners to win in Lincoln, but I believe they can do it. Oklahoma 21-13.
Connecticut at Cincinnati
Well, there is no doubt what the Bearcats have to do to possibly make it to the National Championship game and that is keep on winning. The Huskies have had a tough time this year losing many of their games in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. Maybe this will be the game that they can finally close it out and get a statement win, but I highly doubt it. Look for the Bearcats to roll in this one. Cincinnati 31-10.
Wake Forest at Georgia Tech
Wake Forest went down to the wire with Miami and just barely lost last week while the Yellow Jackets looked like they were going to be upset by Vanderbilt before lighting the fire in the fourth quarter to make the game look lopsided. Wake Forest is going to have a very tough time in trying to shutdown Georgia Tech’s triple option offense and I don’t see them doing it. Georgia Tech 38-14.
